Simple and cute nibbles of crunchy pastry hearts.
You will only need 4 ingredients for this recipe!
Topped with sugar and cinnamon mmmm
I was inspired by palmiers but I only had half of a puff pastry roll so my hearts turned out smaller than the usual shapes.
I scored a line in the middle of the puff pastry vertically and then rolled the ends towards the centre. This would result a cylindrical shape after rolling each side.
Then I sliced the roll horizontally to make each pastry heart at about 1/2 an inch thick.
SPrinkled more sugar and cinnamon with a brush of almond milk on top of each heart and baked them for 15 minutes.
Here we are! ready to be baked! eat us cuties will you?
Substitutes:
almond milk
an egg - the egg will result a more golden yellowy colour on the baked pastry hearts
Shortcrust puff pastry
regular ready rolled puff pastry will work fine but It will result a more chewy and soft texture. The shortcrust puff pastry will naturally result a crunchy texture.
